The cuisine of Vietnam is well-known for its richness and diversity. Foreign tourists weep when they hear the names of several meals. Here are 4 Vietnamese horror foods that terrify Western tourists…

  1. Coconut worms

While the coconut worm is one of Vietnam’s most recognized specialities, the meal appears horrendous in the eyes of Western tourists.

Those who eat the coconut worms for the first time get goose bumps. A large number of Vietnamese individuals are afraid to eat this meal.

2. Duck eggs

Duck eggs are regarded as a tasty, nutritious, and healthful food by Vietnamese people. A balut duck’s eggs incubate for around 17–21 days before they’re cooked.

When served with salt, laksa leaves or ginger root and wormwood, this meal is typically accompanied with a spicy kick. Duck eggs, on the other hand, are a challenge for foreign diners who find this dish repulsive.

3. Shrimp paste

Many people liken, Vietnamese people must know how to eat shrimp paste. In Vietnam, shrimp paste is considered one of the very own flavors, accompanied by many indispensable national dishes.

However, this dish is also foreigners who “run away from slippers” when looking at and raining. Raw materials for processing marine shrimp are marine shrimp, salt and some enzymes present in the intestines of shrimp to create fermented dishes and have a characteristic smell.

4. The meat dog

Western visitors believe dogs to be their closest companions. A dog’s intelligence and affection make them a beloved part of the household in other nations. Westerners typically bury their dead and erect tombstones.

In Vietnam, on the other hand, dog meat is a popular delicacy. The reason is that dog meat has been used as a “blackening” agent in Vietnamese folklore in the past, and dog meat has been used to promote yang in Eastern medicine.
